We had a very busy spring break. It started Friday when we headed out early for
We went to a children’s science museum.
A big bubble just popped on this bubble making machine. Brandon and Katelyn love bubbles. We played at this station for a long time.
Wearing hats and checking out an Easter package from Grandma.
Trip to the Zoo
Pointing at elephants
Brandon's surgery went really well. There were no problems. The eye surgeon said it went exactly as planned. While he was in the OR we were able to get our general surgeon, Dr. Downy, to remove a stitch from his stoma from when he was 3 months old. It had worked its way close to the surface of the skin and was causing a minor infection, but it was a resistant staff (MRSA). He was able to incise it and hopefully it won't cause him any more problems.
His lungs are still not fully recovered from his NICU experience as a baby so it took a little longer than we hoped for him to fully wake up and get to a point where he didn't require extra oxygen. So he ended up being admitted Friday night.
When he did wake up it was for short times and he was very cranky. He quit trying to open his eyes after the first couple of tries. He was clearly not happy and, as expected, his tears were a bit bloody. I felt a lot better when I could get him to stop crying by arguing with me over "who's boy he is" (a favorite game of my obstinate boy who always answers "no my boy") and when he would complete the last word of each line of Twinkle, Twinkle all without opening his eyes.
So even though he stayed the night, by morning he was doing great and came home after Breakfast. His eyes are still a bit red. He hates the eye drops we need to put in his eyes 4 times a day but he is doing great.
BYU played their spring scrimmage game and before the game they let kids on the field to run through a bunch of drills. Blake has a new found passion for football. He plays during lunch at school. However, I'm still not sure how much he understands the rules. It doesn't stop him from constantly talking about it and telling us how well he can tackle and evade the tacklers, even of the kids a lot older than him. His big conflict tonight is that he didn't know what to do about the fact he had a basketball and a football game "scheduled" at the same time on Tuesday. (This is not organized sports but just he kids playing at lunch.)
Brandon loves pushing Katelyn around and look, he's using both hands!
Wow! You guys have definately been busy. :) I love all the pics and videos of the kids. I am so glad to know you and have you as a friend. You are awesome. Love you!
